Liaison officer

Cross-government

An officer designated as the main point of contact between teams, agencies, organisations or participants, responsible for coordinating information, requests, arrangements and follow-up.

Example: The liaison officer connects both sides; they are not a human email-forwarding rule.

Also known as: liaison, liaison point

Context: A liaison officer coordinates the relationship but may not have authority to commit the organisation or make the substantive decision.
