Sensitivity

The importance assigned to information to indicate how much protection it needs.

Example: Assess the information's sensitivity before deciding how it may be stored and shared.

Context: Sensitive information is not necessarily confidential for the same reason; protection needs may concern disclosure, alteration, loss or unavailability.
