UIN / FIN
Different meaningsUIN is used for Singapore citizens and permanent residents; FIN is used for foreigners with long-term immigration passes and may be issued by ICA or MOM.
UIN
Use when
You mean the Unique Identification Number issued by ICA to a Singapore citizen or permanent resident.
Example
“Enter the applicant's UIN where the form asks for the citizen or PR identifier.”
FIN
Use when
You mean the Foreign Identification Number issued by ICA or MOM to a foreigner holding a long-term immigration pass.
Example
“Enter the pass holder's FIN in the application.”
