Different meanings

These labels signal different expectations. Information is normally passive; review asks for examination; action asks for a next step; perusal means reading or examination but does not by itself request approval.

You are informing the recipient and do not ordinarily expect action or a decision.

Example

“For your information: the launch date has moved to 14 October.”

For your review

Use when

You want the recipient to examine or assess something.

Example

“For your review: please check the revised assumptions in paragraphs 6 to 8.”

For your action

Use when

You want the recipient to take action; state the specific action and deadline where possible.

Example

“For your action: please update the tracker by Friday.”

For your perusal

Use when

You formally mean for the recipient's reading or examination, without necessarily asking for approval or action.

Example

“The background report is attached for your perusal.”
